Following the stupendous success of Theri, Ilayathalapathy Vijay and director Atlee are reuniting for an upcoming yet-untitled Tamil film.

According to recent developments, the principal shooting of the film will commence in February 2017, a source said. Interestingly, the project will be predominantly shot in the US.
"With most of the cast and crew already finalized, the makers plan to start shooting. A few locations have been locked in the US, and a few more will be finalized during the next visit," a source from the film unit told IANS.
Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha are slugging it out for the leading lady's part.
"Discussions have been initiated with both. In a week's time, an official announcement can be expected," the source clarified.
The film will also feature ace comedians Vadivelu and Rajendran.
Rumours has it that Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman is most likely to compose the music.
It must be noted that veteran screenwriter Vijayendra Prasad has finished penning the script for Vijay's film. However, it isn't clear if Vijay 61 will be a sequel to Theri or a different subject.
Meanwhile, Vijay awaits the release of his upcoming actioner Bairavaa, which also stars Keerthy Suresh, Sathish and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles.
